The name means modesty, and the family's way of building tended to match it: quiet, patient, and durable. From the terraces of Ramallah to shops and firms across two continents, the instinct was the same: make something lasting, and let the work speak.
Faith & traditions
The Hishmeh are a Christian family, and faith has been a constant across the generations, in Ramallah and in the diaspora alike. It shaped the rhythm of the year, the gathering of the family, and the values passed to each new generation, carried, like the name, wherever the family went. Alongside it traveled the everyday traditions of a Ramallah household: the food, the hospitality, and the sense that the family is something you belong to, not merely descend from.
